Drop-In Summer Concert Series
Whether you’re a fan of reggae, pop, punk, indie, or any genre in the books, there’s no shortage of artists coming to the Drop-In at Long Center this summer! Similar to years past, each Friday the Long Center will announce the artists to perform the following Thursday, and RSVPs will open to the public on Mondays! Kick back, relax, and lose yourself in the groove - you won’t be disappointed. Plus, who wouldn’t want to see this incredible event, all happening on a 3D printed stage?!
Paramount Summer Classic Film Series
This one is for all the classic movie lovers! Capital Metro presents this year’s 49th Annual Summer Classic Film Series at the Paramount, with a lineup of classic films perfect for movie lovers of all ages. Purchase your tickets and parking passes on their website, and enjoy a whole summer’s worth of evenings dedicated to providing entertainment by some of the most classic movies in history. Plus: there’s popcorn.
Stay Black and Live: Juneteenth Festival
Based in Austin, but available virtually, this year’s weeklong Juneteenth celebration will be hosted by the George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center! From live music and cookouts to the ability to chat with some of the most influential thought leaders and educators to celebrate this Juneteenth both entertained and informed.

Our Dallas Fort Worth area residents have no shortage of summer fun ahead of them, either! If you’ve been searching for some summer activities to get you out of the house and further engaged with your fabulous community, we have some killer recommendations!

Fort Worth’s Fourth
Spend this year’s Fourth of July surrounded by the best that Fort Worth has to offer and celebrate our Independence Day with friends and family! The Forth Worth’s Fourth celebration is a free event perfect for the whole family to enjoy together, full of food and drinks, live music, kids activities, and, of course, an incredible firework show to wrap up the evening! Gates open at 5pm on Tuesday, July 4th at Panther Island Pavillion.
Irving Brunch Fest
That’s right: a brunch fest, right here in the Dallas Fort Worth area. This year’s Irving Brunch Fest at the Irving Toyota Music Factory will feature brunch items all across the board, from french toast and breakfast tacos to mimosas and bloody marys - seriously, does it get any better?
Mambo Miles 5K
Get your heart pumping this summer at Mambo Miles 5K on July 22 at Klyde Warren Park! All participants will receive a t-shirt, and will be greeted at the finish line with a Mambo Miles 5K finisher medal, breakfast taco and (for those over 21), a Mambo Taxi margarita in a souvenir glass! As if that’s not tempting enough, the post-race celebration will continue at Klyde Warren Park with a tequila garden, music, food trucks, and more!
