Home to 13 unique districts and a rich past, the city boasts more than 20 National Register historic districts and many historic landmarks. The area is peppered with architectural styles and types as diverse as the city itself. In fact, almost half the buildings New Orleanians call home were built before World War II.
As the birthplace of Jazz and the host of more than 135 festivals each year, it’s no surprise the city offers entertainment around every corner. The area’s subtropical climate equates to mild winters and warm summers to make enjoying the outdoors easy year-round.
