RPM Living’s David S. Lynch Shares How Companies Can Build Stronger Cultures

Company culture is more than a set of values displayed on a wall. It is shaped through everyday interactions, leadership decisions and the way organizations respond when circumstances become difficult.
RPM Living Chief People Officer David S. Lynch recently shared his perspective with Multi-Housing News for its article, “How to Build a Good Company Culture.” The article brings together multifamily leaders to explore how companies can strengthen culture through clear expectations, consistent leadership and meaningful feedback.
“The strongest cultures are the ones that remain true to who they are in difficult moments,” David shared. “They do not abandon their humanity, standards or values when it becomes inconvenient.”
David also emphasizes that culture cannot be created by a small group and simply handed to employees. It becomes more meaningful when associates throughout the organization help shape the behaviors and expectations they are asked to uphold.
In multifamily, a strong internal culture can directly influence both the associate and resident experience. By balancing empathy with accountability and ensuring leaders model the standards they set, organizations can create cultures that employees see, feel and experience every day.
